Along with the cross, the research team also found a gorgeous rhodolite stone in spectacular purple raspberry color. Believe it or not, experts believe it’s at least 400 years old. Moreover, this type of gem is typically only found in Africa and was used in Egyptian and Roman ceremonies. While some have hypothesized that Africans could have sailed over or that the French hid Marie Antoinette’s gems on the island, the Knights Templar makes far more sense.
