If you grew up in the ’80s, or just love the music, you know the English electronic music band, Depeche Mode. And, if you’re a fan, you likely owned a copy of their sixth studio album, Music for the Masses, back in the day. However, while all the vinyl records come with the same tunes, not all of them hold equal value.
You see, the original cover featured a white and orange megaphone on the front sleeve (seen in the photo). Even though the band decided to withdraw the cover at the last minute, a handful were shipped as samples to different record stores. Back in 2011, former keyboard player, Alan Wilder sold his personal copy for $4,600! Since then, several others with the original cover have appeared on eBay for a similar price.
