As the end of Stokke’s final year in high school approached, he found herself drowning in negative and unwanted comments about her looks, security issues, and even rumors at school. It felt like a neverending roller coaster of emotion. Even worse, the infamous photo of the young pole vaulter had started to affect her athletic career.
You see, despite everything, Stokke wanted to continue competing in pole vaulting in college. However, there was an increasing risk that recruiters would feel put off by all the attention that she had received, no matter what she could bring to the team. Even Stokke herself wondered if she could turn it all around.
