Not long after the official California Track and Field website posted the photo of Stokke, Ufford’s website Leather reposted the picture. While that would have been one thing, it was the title that Ufford landed on that caused the most uproar.
The photo received the headline “Pole Vaulting is S*xy, Barely Legal” on Leather, turning Stokke into an object of desire for the website’s male readers, all without her permission. The photo soon went viral online, with people not caring at all about what they were sharing. Of course, as you might imagine, this rocked the young pole vaulter’s world – and not in a good way!
