When it comes to sell and buy goods in the Amish community, often saving money means that no money is exchanged at all! And that’s because the Amish know the value of a good bargain. Furthermore, sometimes, they can purchase things without spending one dollar!
“The Amish trade goods and services and no money trades hands. I have an Amish farmer friend, Atlee, who lives in Michigan. He will trade a cow for rag rugs. Then they’ll sell these rag rugs at the farmer’s market or roadside stand,” says Craker. There’s no better way of saving money that to spend to money on a purchased at all!
