Bill Buckner – Bad Investments

Like other broke athletes, famous Red Sox first baseman Bill Buckner will always be remembered for something terrible, rather than his incredible career. In 1986, many blamed Buckner for the Sox losing the World Series, due to a missed catch, with the ball going right through his legs. At the time, he was making millions a year.
Unfortunately, the mistake would follow Buckner around until his passing in 2019. Even worse, Buckner saw an economic low in 2008 when he declared bankruptcy after his car dealership failed. However, Buckner than moved to Idaho, where he became a successful real estate investor, passing $8 million onto his family after his passing last year.
