Rick Mahorn – Poor Spending Habits

Despite earning close to $7 million during his NBA career, former Detroit Pistons Rick Mahorn is yet another broke athlete. According to the Detroit News, Mahorn filed for bankruptcy and lost his home despite pulling in six-figure checks in recent years as a broadcaster and one-time coach of the now-Tulsa Shock.
At the time of the filing, the “Bad Boy” and his wife reported a monthly income of $6,161, opposite to their monthly expenses of $12,763. What’s more, the trustee overseeing his case even accused him of failing to disclose several assets, including his 1989 NBA championship ring, which Mahorn told the News he gave to his mom and is now “gone.”
