Without a doubt, the most significant Denver Broncos player to also have played with the New York Giants is fame quarterback Craig Morton. However, back in 1996, nobody was asking him about how many touchdowns passes he threw as the Denver Broncos quarterback. Instead, the questions involved other numbers, like his $38,000 bank loan and his $34,635 Federal income-tax lien.
However, unlike most broke athletes, Morton got the money to pay his debts to the Manufacturers Hanover Bank in New York, and even said that “everything is being taken care of.” “I’ve already paid the I.R.S. about $60,000,” he explained. “They didn’t accept some of the things [deductions] I claimed. And now they want some more money.”
