Graig Nettles – Unknown Reaons
Third baseman Graig Nettles had great accomplishments in his 22-season professional career with the Twins, Indians, Yankees, and Braves, just to mention a few. Nettles was a six-time All-Star, a two-time World Series Champion, and even the captain of the Yanks for three seasons!
In 1988, Nettles decided to wave goodbye to the field, with a total of 2,225 hits, 1,314 RBIs, 1,193 runs scored, a .964 fielding percentageā¦ and $1 million in debt! Thatās right. Nettles dug himself out though, later finding success as a coach for the Yankees and Padres. He was also a manager in the minor leagues and the Senior Professional Baseball Association.
