One of Americasā most beloved actors, Morgan Freeman, also once served to protect the country that loves him so. You see, in high school, Freeman desperately wanted to learn how to fly, so he decided to join the U.S. Air Force after graduating, in 1955. In fact, the future actor even passed up a drama scholarship from Jackson State University to do so!
In the Air Force, Freeman worked his way up to Airman 1st Class, specializing in radar repair. However, he soon lost his romantic notions about serving in the military, describing sitting in the cockpit as āsitting in the nose of a bomb.ā So, in 1959, Freeman left the military and went to Hollywood. And the rest, as they say, is history!
