“Everybody goes to Gino’s!” Or, at least, that was Gino’s Hamburgers’ slogan. And, during the ’60s and ’70s, the slogan was essentially true! After football hall of famer Gino Marchetti opened the first Gino’s in 1957, the chain quickly took off. Within just a decade, Gino’s rapidly expanded to over 300 locations, mostly on the East Coast.

Unfortunately, Marchetti then made the decision to expand to the Midwest. Unfortunately, those locations did not fair well and closed shortly after. This hit the company hard, and Gino’s eventually sold to Marriott, which converted all its remaining sites into Roy Rogers Restaurants.
