The Most Famous Restaurant Chains That Failed (For Good Reasons!)
Ever wonder why famous failed restaurant chains like Howard Johnson’s and D’Lites went under? Find out here!
22. Naugles
In 1967, the fast food world changed forever when the first Taco Bell opened in California. All of a sudden, Mexican was on the fast food menu! In the wake, plenty of failed restaurant chains tried to replicate Taco Bell’s success – including Naugles. Naugles opened three years after the first Taco Bell, just a few miles away. The fast food chain’s slogan was, “Prepare food fresh. Serve costumers fast. Keep place clean!”
Well, maybe if they had better grammar, their restaurants would still be open. Eventually, Naugles folded and merged with Del Taco. That resulted in most locations changing from Naugles to Del Taco. As of today, there are only two locations still open. If you ever want to try it out, they serve the areas of Fountain Valley and Huntington Beach, California.
