Believe it or not, there’s a good chance you still eat an Isaly’s product today, despite the company going under. William Islay founded Islay’s, a dairy and restaurant rolled into one, in the late 19th century. While the name clearly came from its founder, the fast food chain’s marketing claimed that Isaly’s actually stood for “I Shall Always Love You, Sweetheart.”

Not only was the brand famous for its chipped chopped ham, but also for creating the Klondike Bar! They also created that world-famous tagline: “What would you do for a Klondike Bar?” Over the years, the company changed hand many times and sold Klondike Bar to Good Humor-Breyers. Still, unlike many other failed restaurant chains, there are at least three Isaly’s still in operation in Pennsylvania! Time for a vacation to relive the good ol’ days!
