Believe it or not, actress Virginia Patton had no plans of pursuing acting when she first enrolled at the University of Southern California. However, once there, she began to audition for fun and fell in love! Of course, this eventually led to her most famous role: that of Ruth Dakin Bailey in Frank Capra’s It’s a Wonderful Life.
Today, although she retired in 1949, Patton still regularly gives interviews about It’s a Wonderful Life, as she’s the last member of the adult cast. Fun fact: Virginia Patton is the niece of famed General George S. Patton! We’re sure she has plenty of interesting stories to tell!
