Does Joe Turkel look familiar? Well, that’s because the 92-year-old actor has starred in some of your favorite movies and shows. And while Turkel may not have scored the lead parts very often, he played characters that will stay with us forever. Who can forget him as Dr. Elden Tyrell in Blade Runner or the terrifying bartender Lloyd in The Shining?
While Turkel retired from the screen in 1998, after a final appeared in Boy Meets World, he still regularly does interviews for documentaries and attends classic film conventions. While The Shining might be his most famous work, Turkel recently said another Stanley Kubrik film, Paths of Glory, was his favorite movie to work on.
