“My Sharona” by the Knack (1979)

For the ’70s rock band the Knack, it never got better than their famous hit “My Sharona.” Believe it or not, the historic hit was their first single ever. That’s right! And, following its release, “My Sharona” rocketed to the top of Billboard‘s charts, becoming Capitol Records’ fastest-ever song to achieve Gold status (at the time, at least.)
While the Knack failed to chart another hit, “My Sharona” was enough to put them in the rock n roll record books. Sadly, the band broke up and got back together several times, before officially dissolving in 2010. However, no matter the status of the band, “My Sharona” will live on forever!
