“Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-a-Lot (1992)
“Oh my God, Becky, look at her butt.” With that opening line, Sir Mix-a-Lot created one of the most famous songs of all time. “Baby Got Back,” one of the first rap songs to earn the number one spot, where it spent five weeks, is an ode to curvy women – and it worked!
Sadly, Sir Mix-a-Lot never quite found success again. However, that doesn’t mean that “Baby Got Back” has lost any of its earworminess! In fact, Nicki Minaj sampled “Baby Got Back” in her 2014 smash hit “Anaconda,” bringing the ’90s rap classic back to the public attention.
