Flashback to 1982: actor Sylvester Stallone wants to use “Another One Bites the Dust” in Rocky III. However, the band denied his request. So, Stallone landed on “Eye of the Tiger” by a then-unknown band, Survivor. Thanks to the use of the song in the movie and the accompanying music video, “Eye of the Tiger” flew to the number one spot on Billboard‘s Top 100 list.
Since then, while Survivor has exactly charted many other massive hits, they have enjoyed steady success since the ’80s. They continue to perform today, though they have not released an album since 2006’s Reach.
