We know what you’re thinking: “I don’t know the song ‘Tubthumping’!” However, most people actually do know “Tubthumping,” they just know it by the incorrect title “I Get Knocked Down.” A staple at sporting events around the world, “Tubthumping,” is one of the few songs about getting drunk and “p*ssing the night away” that has ever reached the top ten.
While “Tubthumping” remains a sporting event favorite, it hasn’t resulted in more work for the British band that recorded it, Chumbawamba. Finally, in 2012, Chumbawamba announced that they would split up after more than three decades together. “That’s it then, it’s the end. With neither a whimper, a bang, or a reunion,” the band wrote on its website.
