According to well-respected music publication Consequence of Sounce, “I Melt With You,” by English new wave/post-punk band Modern English, as the greatest one hit wonder of all time. And it’s not hard to see why: it’s a great song! However, for a one hit wonder, the song did not chart very well – it only reached number 76 on the Billboard Hot 100. However, today, more than forty years later, it’s still impossible not to hum along to this earworm.
Plus, over the years, not only have the likes of Jason Mraz and Bowling for Soup covered the song, but it also appeared in movies and television shows like Valley Girl, 50 First Dates, and Sky High.
