Of course, one of the most iconic images from the Apollo 11 mission is Neil Armstrong descending the ladder to the moon. Even today, millions of people have this picture up as a poster, inspiring them to greatness. However, if Armstrong was the first man to walk on the moon, who exactly snapped this incredible shot?
That’s easy: NASA’s newly created photography equipment did! While still inside the module, Armstrong deployed a “Modularized Equipment Stowage Assembly,” which had a camera attached to the front. It’s this camera that gave millions around the world a front-row view of Armstrong and Aldrin heading to the moon.
