New Orleans, Louisiana is one of the top tourist destinations in all of the United States. Not only does it offer unique food and great music culture, but also friendly folks and endless outdoor adventures. However, many people are deciding that they don’t want to live in the state of Louisiana anymore. You see, job growth is nearly stagnant and the taxes can be brutal.

Believe it or not, the average combined sales tax in Lousiana is the second-highest in the entire United States at 9.46%. What’s more, the employment outside of farmwork only increased by 0.1% from 2018 to 2019. Even though the natural gas, technology, and methanol industries are increasing in the state, an overwhelming 70.08% are considering moving out in the next five years.
