Ultimately, Stokke and her social media manager decided to have her make a pole vaulting video where she explained the different pole vaulting techniques. It was meant to show a more adult, educational side of Stokke, to combat the negative publicity online.
In the video, it’s clear that Stokke wants to redirect the attention she had been receiving and move it in a more positive direction. At the same time, the athlete seems nervous in the video, proving just how much she really wanted to stay out of the spotlight. Still, the video clearly shows Stokke for the strong woman she is, not the image the internet had created. She hoped it would work.
